Yoga Club 2019

The Bhagavad Gita has been a primary text of the yoga tradition for centuries and has inspired modern minds like Mahatma Gandhi, Henry David Thoreau, and Carl Jung.  

During the course of the year, we'll break down the content of the Bhagavad Gita to make the major themes more accessible and digestible. There is an opportunity to sign up for the year and also for individual semesters of Yoga Club.  Each Semester has a thematic focus from the Gita and a book that will guide our study.

Day/Time: Sacred Sundays, 10am-1pm

Spring Semester: Discover Your Dharma  - 1/27, 2/10, 3/3, 3/17, 3/31, 4/7 

Summer School: Yoga is Skill in Action  - 6/2, 6/23, 7/14, 8/4

Fall Semester: Bhakti Bliss - 9/22, 10/6, 10/27, 11/10, 11/24, 12/8

5 Elements Workshop Series.

In the Yoga Tradition, there are the five Mahabhutas - The 5 Great Elements. When you use the 5 elements to feel into your body, alignment becomes more intuitive and action becomes more organic.

In this 5 session series, you’ll explore each Mahabhuta, how they relate to common alignment principles, how they correspond to anatomy, and how they feel in your body.

With the 5 Elements, you’ll circumvent the thinking mind and instead of being trapped in right/wrong, good/bad, you’ll gain access to the feeling presence of the body and generate a state of wonder and exploration in your practice.

Curriculum:

Saturdays, 10am-12pm

2/9 - Session 1: Earth - the roots of the body - feet and hands

2/16 - Session 2: Water - free-flowing hips and the current of the low back

3/9 - Session 3: Fire - ignite the abdominals and deep core

3/16 - Session 4: Air - uplift your heart

3/23 - Session 5: Space - expansive breath, liberated body

Day Long Retreat: New Year's Revolution

Instead of a Resolution, have a New Year’s Revolution.

With daylong retreats, you can dive deep into your practice and still sleep in your own bed! At the New Year day long, there will be deep practice and practical yoga philosophy with me. Then a sweet serenade and soundbath with Lucia Lilikoi

Schedule:

10-11am - Practice Prep - Dharma, Karma, Fate & Free Will

11am - 1:30pm - Practice - A Foundation of Free Will

1:30-3pm - Brunch Break - enjoy the delicious dining of the Fillmore District

3 - 5pm - Practice - Strength in Surrender

5 - 6pm - SoundBath + Serenade by Lucia Lilkoi
